Dr. Ernesto Suarez, a Spanish-speaking optometrist in the San Fernando Valley, received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas at Austin. He then attended school at the Western University of Health Sciences for his Doctorate of Optometry.
Dr. Suarez is also a proud US Air Force Veteran. He served 6 years of active duty and trained as an X-ray and CAT scan technologist. He is licensed by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in both modalities.
As a non-commissioned Officer, Dr. Suarez worked in Military Intelligence as a Spanish Linguist for the Defense Intelligence Agency in Washington, D.C.

Dr. Suarez has a passion for helping under-served communities. As a student, Dr. Suarez belonged to Western University’s student chapter of Volunteer Optometric Services for Humanity (VOSH).
He organized a medical mission trip for his team. They provided free medical aid and vision services to communities in El Salvador. Dr. Suarez has also volunteered in some of the largest local health care clinics. Most notably, he worked with California CareForce. He served the Coachella Valley community in several occasions.
Dr. Suarez is therapeutically certified to treat and manage ocular diseases as a licensed San Fernando Valley Optometrist. This includes conditions like red eyes, diabetes, glaucoma and macular degeneration. He is also trained to co-manage ocular surgeries (including cataracts, LASIK and pterygium, which is commonly called Surfer’s eye). Finally, Dr. Ernesto Suarez is certified in Corneal Refractive Therapy (CRT), the nightly wear of custom contact lenses for correction of nearsightedness without surgery.
Dr. Suarez is also a native Spanish-speaking San Fernando Valley Optometrist. He also speaks English fluently. This allows him to treat both English-speaking and Spanish-speaking patients.
